The BC Food Service Expo was a huge success! Sunday and Monday were jam packed with all kinds of fun. Both days the Simply West Coast ladies were educating the crowds that migrated to our booth. Everyone was enjoying Samples of our sauces and of our newly launched Sizzlin’ Shrimp Cakes and Crackin’ Crab Cakes.

 group

People were blown away by the Shrimp and Crab Cakes. Multiple people commented on the fresh flavours, saying that they could really taste the difference the all natural ingredients make. Lot’s of the buyers minds were turning just thinking about our products being incorporated into their various business’s.

People could barely believe that we made both the cakes and the sauces to pair them with. Many visitors thought both the cakes and sauces were such quality products that using both of them together would be an easy decision for them and keep things simple in the kitchen.

The non stop buzz continued around the booth, and when we weren’t serving our Sizzlin’ Shrimp and Crackin’ Crab Cakes, we were serving various other samples so that they had a chance to try all of our sauces. Both our Sassy Sesame Sauce and our Tangy Thai Aioli received allot of positive attention this past weekend.

The possibilities that have come from this expo are endless, we will have even more opportunities to reach you in 2013 so be sure to keep watch for us in your Neighbourhood. We’re looking forward to reaching our fantastic customers in all kinds of new locations in the lower mainland and beyond.

Our Simply West Coast Island adventure was such a success, we had the opportunity to meet and visit with so many new and pre-existing loyal customers. Our first demo was on the Friday in downtown Victoria at the Market on Yates.

We served up our Swingin’ Cocktail Sauce, Sassy Sesame Sauce, Soya Maple Glaze, and our Fishmonger’s Marinade. We used sole fish with our marinade, cooking this was simple!

-Marinate the sole in our Fishmonger’s Marinade

-Wrap the fish in tin foil

-Pre-heat oven to 375

-Bake the fish for 5min and then poke a small hole in the foil

-Continue baking for about 15 more minutes, checking occasionally

-Voila 😉

Our second demo was on the Saturday, just outside of Victoria at the Market on Millstream. This was another great store! Our samples were pretty similar to the day before, but this time we included our Tangy Thai Aioli. It was a good thing we did because sauce was flying off the shelves, we sold out of three of our sauces!

We also had the chance to visit quite a few Island stores who carry our sauce. One of these stores is Victoria’s Finest at Sea Seafood Boutique, this is such a great store, with a beautiful location. It’s right by the water and they catch a good portion of the fish they sell. An added bonus is that they also carry a large variety of our sauces. This is definitely a shop worth stopping by.

Thank you to everyone who came to sample our sauces and to all the stores that welcomed us.
